Handmade Boats
Living by the Seaside is happy to introduce these lovely framed Handmade Boats, crafted by local artist Chris Avery on the Isle of Wight:
"The boats came about as a wet Saturday indoor activity with my granddaughter, after collecting some driftwood from Gurnard Beach, near Cowes, on the Isle of Wight.
They have now become more detailed with bouys, lobster pots, nets and flags. The hulls are made and crafted from found wood and driftwood picked up above the high tide mark from beaches around the island and decorated by hand, by me and my granddaughter.
The Boats are not intended to be models but are crafted to give the feel of working boats that I remembered from my childhood in a Devon fishing village."
Please note that colours, names and detials are different on each boat and may vary as they are all truly handmade.
